Do You Believe that you learn things when you’re ready?
And Not Until?
Do you believe
That God gives you tidbits of information?
That He doesn’t give you the big picture all at once because it would probably overwhelm you?
Do you believe
That God Gives you those tidbits of information and weaves them around things that happen in your life?
That you can try to learn something but if it ISN”T the right time, it doesn’t sink in?
This is my story about a journey that began as a “21 Day Blogging Strike”.
My “blogging strike, took an unexpected turn with a book.
One that I bought at least 14 years ago, I tried to read it didn’t click with me,
I didn’t get through many of the chapters.
It bored me, it didn’t make sense, and I’m sure I fought the topic.
The book got stuck on a shelf. Forgetten.
How did I come to pull that book off the shelf?
It all began on November 13th, 2017.
It was a Monday morning. The beginning of a work week
You might totally understand this feeling.
Dread, because it’s Monday and the beginning of the work week.
It’s understandable if you have a lousy job and a crappy boss.
But I don’t. I’m self-employed, my boss is me.
I do what I want, quilting, baking, creating, and blogging about it.
Yet, I dreaded the week to come.
There was too much to do, not enough time to do it in, and worse…none of it made sense.
And I wondered…
What the Hell am I doing?
I decided to “strike” 🙂 and maybe discover my purpose.
Day 3 of my strike:
I mentioned a couple of Christian Books to my husband – I was actually talking them down. The Purpose Driven Life: What on Earth Am I Here For?. *affiliate link
After we discussed those know it all Purpose Gurus, I went and looked for that book.
That’s how the book on the shelf, went into my hands, and got into my heart.
14 years after purchasing The Purpose Driven Life, it is making me see God in a whole new way.
I have completed the 40 days but…
My journey has just begun.
And I knew halfway through the book I’d want to read it again
With a group of people.
There were days during this journey I got excited, sometimes it was confusing…
But at the end of the day? I looked forward to what I’d learn the next day.
What new tidbits of information would God show me, and weave through my day?
I believe God puts things in your life when you are really ready for them.
A person, a hobby, a job, and yes a book,
Way back then I don’t think I would have read the book with the same enthusiasm. Its meaning would have fallen flat,
Nothing and EVERYTHING!
These are the talents and skills that God has given me.
And I intend to use them in a way to inspire, teach, and share with you!
Have a Happy and Blessed New Year!
